A Special Post - An Invitation!!

Taking a break from my usual post, poem & cadence…this is a special invite for YOU! I would like to invite you to AFEC's (A Future for Every Child) "Photography and Poetry" virtual event, where I am the guest speaker on this coming Sunday March 28th 3-4pm PDT.
As many of you know I am an adoptive mom, having adopted my amazing daughter (more on that story in a future post) from India many years ago, so this cause is very close to my heart. Please do join me.
AFEC does amazing work with destitute, vulnerable children who grow up in child care institutions in India. Most people do not realize that these kids have to leave these institutions as soon as they turn 18. At that point they have to fend for themselves but their inadequate training, skills and education leaves them vulnerable and insufficiently prepared for life. That’s where AFEC steps in. AFEC has the power to greatly improve the trajectory of these children’s lives by providing them with skills, training and resources to make a productive and flourishing life for themselves. Reena says that AFEC is the “much needed missing piece in the story of India’s orphan children.” We are so grateful to have her in our AFEC family.
After Reena's presentation, stay tuned to learn more about what we do at AFEC. Co-founder Gita Gopal will sharehow AFEC works with youth aging out of orphanages in India, to ensure that each young adult gets a chance to live their lives to their full potential.
