Fair Treatment
Jury selection was almost done. Several potentials had been thanked and excused, for admitting to not being able to “put (their) biases aside.” The rest of us unwashed masses watched tensely from the not-yet-called pool.
The petite public prosecutor addressed final juror #12, “You’d mentioned your father was arrested in the ‘80s, correct?”
“Yes ma’am,” he nodded.
She didn’t blink, “So, do you think he was treated fairly by the justice system?”
Just say yes and be done, please!
“Yeah, he was treated fairly by the justice system,” he hesitated, “...but not by my mother!”
The courtroom erupted in laughter.

Hope you found that as funny as I did in the courtroom earlier this month. I love these small moments that life presents, unexpectedly. A sense of humor is a divine gift indeed!
Hilarious ending! :)
Hahaha that was funny 😂
