My Father
When I was in 10th grade we acquired a dog. Small, white, adorable. My father protested the acquisition; forecasting much additional hassle, expense, hair shedding, etc. He wasn’t wrong. She was a picky eater. So he arranged for beef — a biggie in a Hindu home. When we went on vacation she got anxious. So he came home early, baked her a doggie cake. When we ate, she begged. Miraculously, morsels only fell to her from his plate. He never failed to remind us that these were exactly the reasons why he disliked having dogs around. He’d also named her — Nuisance.

*Sacred status is attributed to cows in Hinduism, so Hindus avoid beef.
A story that came as a little remembrance of my dear Papa because September is his birthday month. He was of course madly in love with our dear, adorable Nuisance. I miss his big-hearted love.
This was so lovely! I couldn’t make it to the event yesterday but maybe we can chat over a cup of tea?
Love it … a little پریشانی
