A young man was married off to a serious girl. She never smiled or laughed. A sage prescribed: Simple joys that money can’t buy.
The husband brought her wildflowers. She held them close.
He took her walking in the mountains. A skip appeared in her step.
He took her to sit by a gushing river. She started humming.
He took her to a children’s park. Her face relaxed.
When a child fell down, she rushed to soothe it.
The next day the child brought her a flower. She smiled.
The following day the child hugged her. She laughed out loud.
