I think a lot of regulations and protests are hypocritical at some level. I once knew a woman who droned on and on about climate change while driving a new Corvette and living in an 8,000 sqft house. Sometimes we are the problem.
I could not agree more. One of the worst human tendencies is projection: to see “them” as the cause of problems but not ourselves. Another case in point: the current anger about immigrants. If Americans were honest and looked in the mirror, we would see immigrants as models of how to work hard, to strive for something, to sacrifice for our children, and yes, to respect our own way of life perhaps better than we do. Well done, Reena!
I believe that today there are too few people who view parenting as a calling and, as you’ve pointed out, leave the kids to the external multimedia babysitter. They are the products of an earlier generation which advocated being “best friends “ with their kids and “letting them find their own way/truth”…
HI Janice! Thank you for reading and for your solid comment. I agree with you. While the causes for our children's woes are many, misguided parenting is surely one of them. I was one of the foolish in my younger years who did not see the "big deal" of parenting. Have thoroughly and thankfully revised all that. Bad philosophy and mindless, ideological departure from the tried and true in throwing out the baby (pun not intended) with the dirty water are surely at play. Many thanks for stopping by.

Thanks Switter for reading and for you comment. Indeed. The chasm between our professed virtues and reality remains wide. We are the problem.

Sour food for thought… which isn’t a bad thing if properly balanced and digested. Thank you for the bait.
Awesome! Thank you Marlene.
