Grievance Studies
That day an argument exploded. People said she was unpleasant. Then…
Some1 said it’s because her mother beat her as a child. Nasty mother!
Some2 countered the poor mother was impatient because her father had married her off young, forbidding her from going to college despite her brains. Horrible man!
Some3 argued no, dad was a nobleman trapped by his own tyrannical father.
We went on like this until we lost track.
Some4 finally declared we must go all the way back to the first man and woman, like Adam and Eve, to demand an explanation! We nodded in relief.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Some of you have asked about my micro stories. They are strictly 100-word stories, not 99, not 101, but exactly 100 words. And I always think of and thank
for the inspiration for this. It’s both a way to tell of the many mini stories I think about and to practice a craft exercise!I always love to hear what you think of any or all of them!
Such an interesting piece felt like a weigh in on the nature vs nurture debate. Also loved the numbering with the some’s
I guess some1 has to break the cycle. Great story, Reena.
