Old man praying:

“I have no requests for myself, but is there anything You can do to give dogs a longer lifespan?”

Aww... yes they are the best! Thanks Switter.

Hi Reena, just exploring some of your past creativity,

And had to comment on your poem; sort of grabbed me about the sadness of Moxie, death but joy from her life. My wonderful Border, Eejay died in 2020 at age 16. Still finding some of his accoutrement as I tidy up . Kept me v fit with up to 3 walks a day

Will hunt up the doco with interest. Do recall a theory that Homo Sapien and Dog symbiotic collaboration evened the competition with our Neanderthal cousins who had much larger olfactory sense and processing areas. There is also a great National geographic special edition and Sir David A has a lot to say. Regards.

Aww thanks Cristoffa for reading. Dogs are the best! And glad it brought up sweet memories for you. Very cool facts.

I saw a fabulous docu which I highly recommend about our co-evolution called "Dogs Decoded".

This is heartbreaking but incredibly beautiful. I lost my 5 and a half year old corgi last year and it was one of the hardest things I have experienced. Dogs are special and they teach us so much about love.

Reena Kapoor's avatar

So sorry to hear of your loss dear Minh! And you’re right - they teach us how to live and how to love even when we know grief is likely. That’s an important lesson because the alternative would be to close off our hearts to future love and what a great loss that would be. Wish you the best!

Very nice story about your dog. I liked how your pointed out that a dog's short life have grief built in and we still accept it. Good job.

Thanks for reading Scott. And for writing to tell me about it. Glad you enjoyed the poem and yes isn’t it the ultimate act of vulnerability we practice, and it’s beautiful. Thanks 🙏

It's so sweet to read the Moxie poem again--this time in January 2022. We loved Moxie, too. Just think of the lives she touched!

Reena Kapoor's avatar

Indeed Carolyn! And thank you for reading (again) and writing to me. She's here all the time, unforgettable as she was and she loved you very much! <3

Love the way you have expressed the relationship between humans and dogs/animals. We have the exact same emotions for our grand catoo! They add so much to our lives. Lots of hugs Reena your Moxie and her cold wet cuddly nose is in a good place❤️

Thanks dear Mona! Absolutely let’s become our special children. Love your sentiments ❤️

Wonder what Moxie would be woofing about the Kapoor-Wadhera house. I am sure her audience would be listening to her stories with rapt attention...

Reena Kapoor's avatar

Haha! Thanks Vinay. That made me laugh out loud. She was a demanding little one so I bet she has stories...

So, so lovely <3 I read the line "sign me up please" in your voice :)

Reena Kapoor's avatar

Thanks dear Hassan! I loved hearing that ❤️

So beautifully expressed!!! Moxie was indeed blessed to have such an amazing family and must also be saying that she is so happy that she signed up for such beautiful people in her life. Your writing really touches the heart and this is such a great tribute for cutie Moxie.

Thanks dear Lalita! Your words and appreciation mean so much to me. ❤️

It's heartbreaking to lose a pet ( for want of a better word) There is always that pang in the heart that never goes away. You have expressed this feeling so beautifully Reena. 🤗

Reena Kapoor's avatar

Thanks dear Waheeda! You are so right. What a privilege to be able to appreciate that love, despite its price. ❤️

Beautifully expressed. I so relate to it.We lost Diana and Xenia due to sudden and unexpected illness. It was heartbreaking. Fiona came into our lives to fill their gap

So lovely Reena! Thank you for sharing your lovely comment and experience ❤️

So well written. Can relate. We lost Sweetie and Rocky in the last five years. Roman is our fifth boxer since we got married. Cannot imagine our lives without a pooch at home.

Reena Kapoor's avatar

Thanks Manbir! So true and so sorry for your losses. Dog lovers know this well.

Wow!! That made me tear up. Every time we lost a dog I thought never again. But then I realize how empty my life is without them and before I know it we are looking for a dog.

Reena Kapoor's avatar

So very very true Lalitha! I know you’ve been a long time dog lover. ❤️Thanks for your beautiful comment.

For me, it’s cats, but all that you express is so the same when I think about my dearly missed Babu. These beings are forever in our hearts and a part of our families. We might have “taken care of them” but oh how they cared for us in infinite and invaluable ways. 🤗♥️

Reena Kapoor's avatar

Thanks Farah! Absolutely. What a lovely sentiment <3
